Is VMware’s Apology Enough?

Apology In the aftermath of the infamous bug in the latest release of VMware ESX, VMware CEO Paul Maritz has released a letter that apologizes for the incident and also explains what went wrong and how they are committed to ensure it never happens again. For customers who were effected by the widespread problem with ESX 3.5 Update 2 released several weeks ago, is VMware’s apology and promise to improve their processes enough? Or is it going to leave some lingering doubt in the minds of some that may inspire them to look at other virtualization products? The letter provided an explaination of what what happened: The issue was caused by a piece of code that was mistakenly left enabled for the final release of Update 2.
